Community Foundation of North Florida awards $55K in grants

The Community Foundation of North Florida is pleased to award $55,000 to nonprofit organizations in the Big Bend region as part of its inaugural Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow grant program.

The 11 nonprofits will each receive a $5,000 Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow grant to further their work in Education and Social & Human Services. The recipients are:

  • Big Bend Area Health Education Center

  • Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition, Inc.

  • CESC, Inc.

  • Children’s Home Society

  • Elder Care Services

  • Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO)

  • Gadsden Arts

  • Lutheran Social Services of North Florida

  • Second Harvest of the Big Bend

  • STEMS4Girls

  • Tallahassee Museum

“The mission of the Community Foundation of North Florida is to enhance the quality of life in the North Florida community by promoting and supporting charitable giving,” said Katrina Rolle, President & CEO. “This new Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow grant program is the perfect complement to our mission, providing immediate support to outstanding nonprofits addressing our community’s most basic needs.”

Each year, the Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow grant program will provide an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to apply for funding to enhance their work across Florida’s Big Bend region. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply if they are in the geographic service area of Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla counties.
