Community Leaders Lay Wreath Honoring Victims Of COVID-19

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle joined other leaders laying a wreath at Daley Plaza in honor of the thousands of people who died of COVID-19.

- Within the last couple of hours, we've learned that Cook County, they will be releasing 35,000 new appointments tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Those appointments will be either first dose for Moderna or Pfizer, or single-dose Johnson & Johnson shots. To find more, check out our website CBSChicago.com. Now that many of us are getting vaccinated, community leaders want to make sure we remember the people lost to COVID-19.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle joined other officials to lay a wreath at the eternal flame at Daley Plaza. It's in memory of people who died from COVID-19 in Illinois. That's more than 21,000 people.
