Community members awarded for 'Good Trouble'

Feb. 28—LIMA — Three community members were honored Tuesday evening for carrying on the Legacy of Congressman John Lewis. Anita Ester, Antoneio Clay and Quincy Peoples were chosen to receive the 'Good Trouble' award presented by Sixth Ward Council member Derry Glenn.

"Today is our annual Congressman John Lewis day," said Glenn. "We pick the people that are carrying that legacy of John Lewis. Lewis stood for 'good trouble.' He was a family man. He worked in his community and he tried his best to let everyone know we should all love one another. It is exciting today."

Ester, Clay and Peoples thanked Glenn for the opportunity to receive the award. Ester was recognized for raising five women who continue to make an impact in the community. Clay was recognized for his work at Ford Motor Company and his future endeavors. Peoples was recognized for creating a new platform for community members.

"It is very important to support a local business; that is why I started a show called Support Local," said Peoples. "We are supporting local and just trying to grow as a community."
