Community mourns student killed in shooting near school
A Baltimore school community is mourning a student who was shot in the head Monday afternoon. Flags were lowered to half-staff Tuesday at Patterson High School in memory of Izaiah Carter, district officials told 11 News. The 16-year-old student was a part of the school's Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. Carter was shot in the Joseph E. Lee Park on East Pratt Street near a walking path just behind the school. Residents reacted to the killing and said it's not the first time someone fired shots in their neighborhood.
