NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Garrett Lewis of Monroe received the 2022 Raymond and Clyde Motts Scholarship at Manchester University.
Lewis, a Monroe High School graduate, is majoring in early childhood and elementary education.

Al-anon meetings
--Tuesday Night Serenity meets at 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays at St. Anne Catholic Church’s parish hall on N. Dixie Hwy. Attendees should use Door 4 in the back of the building. Handicap parking is available. For more information, call Kathy at 770-0878.
--An Al-Anon meeting takes place at 6 p.m. Thursdays at Christ Lutheran Church, 225 E. Elm Ave. Attendees should enter through the center door from the parking lot, behind the church.
NA meetings
Several Narcotic Anonymous meetings are offered in Monroe County. Two can be accessed virtually.
The Monroe County Area Service Committee of NA announces the following meetings. Unless otherwise noted, the groups are open to anyone interested in recovery.
Sundays: Sunday Night Live begins at 7 p.m. in the Hiltz Room at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital, 718 N. Macomb St. It is for addicts only.
Mondays: The Complete Abstinence group meets at noon at Trinity Episcopal Church, 304 S. Monroe St. The Get Off Drugs group meets at 8 p.m. at Monroe Church of the Nazarene, 3401 S. Custer. Tuesdays: Clean & Serene takes place at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 460 Riley St., Dundee. Wednesdays: Wednesday Nite NA begins at 8 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 2420 N. Dixie Highway. This group is for addicts only. Fridays and Saturdays: We Choose Life meets at 8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 304 S. Monroe St.

SMCC open house
St. Mary Catholic Central High School will hold its annual open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 6.
Attendees can tour the school with a Student Ambassador; meet faculty, staff and coaches; learn about financial aid; register for the high school replacement test, and enter to win a tuition voucher and an iPad.
Children of all ages are welcome.

Masses set, first class relics to be shown
ERIE -- Masses for All Saints Day will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A procession of first class relics will take place at the beginning of the Masses.
Masses for All Souls Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
St. Mary sets Mass
A Mass to commemorate All Souls Day will take at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church.
"This is the day that we pray for the peaceful repose of those who have died who may still be in need of our prayer," the Rev. David Burgard, pastor said.
The names of those who died from the parish since last year will be read. Family members of the deceased will be invited to light a candle.
Mass at cemetery
An All Souls Day Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The Rev. David Burgard, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will preside.
"All are invited to join us, especially those who have loved ones buried at St. Joseph Cemetery," organizers said.
Charity Ball for Children with Hair Loss
LIVONIA – Children with Hair Loss of South Rockwood will host its 18th-annual Charity Ball Nov. 5 at Laurel Manor.
The event includes dinner, wine and beer, hair and fashion show, music and dancing, auctions, raffles and special guest The Longhairs, an organization for men with long hair.

Book and Bake Sale
TEMPERANCE – An Election Day Mini Book Sale and Bake Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Bedford Branch Library, 8575 Jackman Rd.
The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Bedford Library.
The public is welcome.
Offered will be nonfiction and fiction titles for adults and teens. A selection of rare and vintage books also will be sold.
The Friends group is an all-volunteer organization. All proceeds fund library programs and events.
