St. Peter’s Episcopal Church hosting lasagna dinner

HEBRON – St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will hold a community dinner on Saturday, April 15, from 4 to 6 p.m., or until sold out. The menu will include your choice of meat or vegetable lasagna, Italian sausage, garlic bread, tossed green salad and your choice of desserts. The cost is $15.

This is a take-out only dinner, no preorders or reservations. Servers will come to your car, take your order, dessert choice and payment, and bring your meals back to your back seat or trunk.

Book signing, volunteer gathering, Crazy Lady Plant Party taking place at Mill Museum

WILLIMANTIC – On Saturday, April 15, Doe Hentschel’s “Look Ma No Hands” book signing will take place at the Dugan Building, 157B Union St., from 2 to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided and members are free and the public pays $5. On Sunday, April 16, The Art of Vacuum Forming will take place. Dan Thomacos will lecture about vacuum forming in the Dugan building at 157 B Union St. at 2 p.m. Learn about all of the elements of the process. See art and fabric in different ways than before.

This lecture will have a demonstration and a piece of art each attendee may take with them. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for the public. Purchase your ticket in advance through the website, by PayPal, or at the Museum Gift Shop, cash or credit card.

On Friday, April 21, a Crazy Lady Plant Party will take place. This event is a presale of plants and a chance to socialize from 3 to 7 p.m. with light refreshments in the Dugan building at 157 B Union St. On Earth Day, The Mill Museum will have a plant sale in Dugan at 157 B Union St. There is no admission fee for this event. When you purchase the plants, please pay with cash, but check and credit card will be accepted too.

On Saturday, April. 22, the drop-in spinning bee with Peggy Church, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in person on the second floor of the main building, 411 Main St. Bring a spindle or wheel and join this free event. Beginners are welcome. COVID vaccinations are required.

On Sunday, April 23, Town Wide Town Pride will take place, thanks to Eastern Connecticut State University. The Mill Museum will host several students from 9 a.m. to noon to assist with painting and yard clean-up projects. The Windham Textile and History Museum is located at

Eastern’s Music Program presents spring main stage events

WILLIMANTIC – Eastern Connecticut State University’s Music Program will host several large-scale performances in April and May. All events will take place in the Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC) Concert Hall.

On April 15 at 4 p.m., Eastern’s Opera Workshop will host “Una Bella Notte.” This afternoon event will include renditions of scenes from Italian opera and operetta by Mozart, Cimarosa, Donizetti, Franz von Suppe, and Gilbert and Sullivan.

Eastern’s annual Honors Recital will take place April 23 at 2:30 p.m. This series of solo performances will be followed by the presentation of the music program’s first-year merit awards and music scholarships as well as a reception in the FAIC’s Susan Sukman McCray Foyer.

Greater Putnam Interfaith Council hosts Earth Day celebration

PUTNAM – The Greater Putnam Interfaith Council invites area residents to an Earth Day Celebration at the Daughters of the Holy Spirit offices, 508B Pomfret St., on Thursday, April 20, at 6 p.m. The event will feature music, readings, prayers and information.
