Class A Dance Studio to hold 'Wonderland' production

OAK HARBOR - Class A Performing Arts (CAPA), a locally owned and operated dance studio,. will present a theatrical dance performance of "Alice Looking for Wonderland." The performance will be 3 p.m. May 14, at the Oak Harbor High School Performing Arts Center.

Influenced by the Royal Canadian Ballet’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” this production is a 20-year dream-vision come true for CAPA director Paula Fox-Ferguson. The production is the conceptualization of Ferguson’s and co-director and daughter Sylvia Ferguson’s creative minds.

The CAPA production brings several unique adaptations of Lewis Carroll's classic stories — “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass” — to this production. The story will begin in a unique setting where Alice first encounters the ever-famous White Rabbit. Mesmerized by the rendezvous, she is then lured into the world of Wonderland. Alice’s journey includes escapades with the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, Knave, and Queen of Hearts, among many others. As she makes her journey, Alice is guided to look inward, and immediately around her, to find all the “wonders” in life she has always been looking for.

Cast and crew members are made up of youth and adults from Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Genoa, Woodville, and Elmore.

Tickets are now on sale, and it is reserved seating only. To purchase tickets, call Don Bolyard at 419-341-9007. Tickets are also available at select times at the CAPA dance/tumble studios. Follow the "Class A Dance Performing Arts" Facebook Page for times and dates. Tickets cost from $18 to $24.
