‘I was concerned for my children’: Trio of German Shepherds jump into woman’s car during daycare drop-off

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A St. Petersburg woman had what she called a scary encounter with three strange German Shepherds who jumped into her front seat as she was dropping off her child at daycare.

Kendra Clark told News Channel 8 she had left her car door open as she walked her 1-year-old to the front door of the daycare. That is when she turned around and saw the three dogs standing between her and her vehicle.

“The dogs then turned around and walked towards my car and I’m screaming at them saying ‘you better not get in my car,'” Clark told News Channel 8. “And as soon as I said that that jumped in.”

Clark’s 8-year-old daughter was still in the back seat, so she rushed to pull her out.

“The babysitter went in her house to try to bribe them with fish sticks,” Clark said. “It did not work, they would not get out of my car so I called the police.”

Clark said the entire experience made her very nervous.

“I was so scared once they was inside my car because I have never came encounter with a German shepherd before let alone 3 at one time,” Clark explained. “I did not know if they was vicious or not. I was more concerned for my children getting hurt.”

St. Petersburg police were able to get the three dogs out of Clark’s vehicle and into the back of their patrol car, saying in a Facebook post that the dogs were taken to Pinellas Animal Urgent Care until they were returned to their owner.
