Benefit: This year's 15th Concert for Autism is actually a series of outings that concludes with the main event on Saturday at the Tack Room Tavern, featuring local bands Fever Dog, The Hellions, Elektric Lucie and more.

The Concert for Autism benefits the Desert Autism Foundation, which provides financial assistance to individuals living with autism and their families. The event was founded by Blasting Echo musicians Josh and Linda Heinz. The couple, and bandmate Armando Flores, have sons on the autism spectrum.

The event also features raffles and silent auctions with donated items from businesses across the valley.

Pop: "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert may have finished as a runner up on the show's eighth season in 2009, but he went on to have a stunning career and widespread popularity.

His 2009 album "For Your Entertainment" reached gold status. In 2012, Lambert became the first openly gay artist to top the Billboard 200 chart with his record "Trespassing." Lambert also went on to tour with the rock band Queen five times.
