Concert Calendar: Folk icon Tom Rush returns to Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

Folk icon Tom Rush makes his return to Ponte Vedra early in 2023.

Rush, who has been performing for more than 50 years, performs Feb. 5, 2023, at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall with Matt Nakoa. Rush has played in Ponte Vedra several times over the years.

Tickets are on sale now at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office and ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $35 to $41. The Amp box office, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, accepts only credit or debit cards. Avoid ticket fees by purchasing tickets in person. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box office is open on event days only.

Rush and Nakoa will open their 2023 tour with four stops in Florida. The tour starts at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on Feb. 2, followed by stops at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart on Feb. 3 and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach on Feb. 4.

Rush is known for top hits including “No Regrets,” “Circle Game,” “Remember Song,” “Urge for Going,” and “Merrimack County.”

The recording artist came up in the Boston/Cambridge folk scene of the early '60s, playing folk-blues on a series of albums for Prestige Records, then moved to Elektra, and by the late '60s was interpreting the work of such upcoming writers as Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. By the early '70s, he was mixing his own songs on albums for Columbia.

He’s a YouTube hit with “The Remember Song” that’s gone viral with more than 7.5 million views.

Nakoa is an internationally touring singer-songwriter, appearing at The White House in 2013, throughout India, and regularly with Rush in New England.
