Rap icon Snoop Dogg brought his High School Reunion Tour to Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on Friday, the first California stop for the 33-show event that started in Vancouver in July.
He was joined on stage by Wiz Khalifa, Too $hort, Warren G, Berner and DJ Drama.
Warren G led the crowd during his set in a birthday cheer for Nate Dogg, who was born Aug. 19, 1969. “When I count to three, say happy birthday Nate D-O double-G,” he yelled out to cheering fans. Nate Dogg, who performed with Snoop Dogg and Warren G as they gained acclaim, died in 2011.
The tour heads to the Bay Area’s Concord Pavilion on Saturday and concludes Sunday at Irvine’s FivePoint Amphitheatre, about 30 miles from Snoop Dogg’s alma mater Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
