Concert to shutdown roads in downtown Dayton today

Today the Dayton Police Department will have a large presence around the Dayton Convention Center downtown.

Beginning at 5:00 p.m. the following road closures and restrictions will take effect:

  • East Fifth Street between South Main Street and South Jefferson Street will be closed to vehicle traffic.

  • East Fourth Street between South Jefferson Street and St. Clair will be restricted to allow expedited departure from the parking garage.

  • The walkway from the parking garage to the Dayton Convention Center will be closed. All pedestrian access will be through the main entrance.

Police also want those planning on attending the concert to know what’s required of guests.

For the safety and security of all attendees, police want those attending no weapons of any kind, and bags or purses, will be allowed inside the venue.

There will be security checkpoints patrons must pass through.
