Concerts, dance, a look at space & Cape League players: 13 top things to do on Cape Cod July 15-21

Fans of a certain Cape Cod Baseball League team will be able to meet their on-field heroes at an event Monday night, while space enthusiasts have a chance on Saturday to see the first images from a telescope 1 million miles from Earth.

Some concerts this week include chamber music, a choir from England and classical musicians. Dance fans can find a contemporary look at women on Martha's Vineyard or student interpretations of visual art in Dennis.

Other highlights include a book-signing, chances to meet artists from Cuba or local writers, a panel discussion about the climate crisis, a new movie, and a lecture about murder. Take a look:

Galería Cubana to host Cuban artists

Galería Cubana in Provincetown is hosting a new exhibition, “Camino Sinuoso (Winding Path)" that features paintings and prints by three artists: Darwin Estacio Martinez, Dairan Fernandez De La Fuente and Harold Lopez. The latter two, both from Havana, Cuba, will be present for a special reception and an artist talk over two days in connection with the show. While their work has been shown at Galeria Cubana for several years, this will be the first chance to meet the artists. The trio of artists explores the relationship between viewer and art and themes of memory and time.

Williams to discuss murder for Tales of Cape Cod

Historian Gregory Williams will talk about “Murder Myths: Medieval Europe to Osterville” as part of the Tales of Cape Cod series. This talk looks at three historically curious ways to understand murder: blood libel, the "pernicious anti-Semitic defamation" that Jews ritually murdered Christian children to obtain their blood; optography, the hope that the last image a murder victim saw would be imprinted on their retina; and the centuries-old “murder will out” belief that a corpse would identify its killer by bleeding afresh in that criminal’s presence.
