Concordia rookie LB Chris Garrett makes Rams 53-man roster

Sep. 1—Last spring, linebacker Chris Garrett followed Zach Moore to become just the second player from Concordia-St. Paul drafted by the NFL. Next, he looks to follow Moore and become the second one from the school to get into a non-replacement regular-season game.

Garrett, taken in the seventh round of the draft, made on Tuesday the Los Angeles Rams' initial 53-man roster. He wrote in a tweet, "Beyond thankful for this opportunity but the work is just getting started."

Moore, a defensive end taken by New England in the sixth round in 2014, played from 2014-18 with the Patriots, Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. Former Concordia wide receiver Todd Black got into one strike replacement game with the Chicago Bears in 1987.

Garrett could end up facing the Vikings when the Rams play at U.S. Bank Stadium on Dec. 26.
