Condor's Phoenix-Germany flights are back. Here's where you can go from Sky Harbor Airport

Just in time for summer vacation travel, Condor airline is restarting its popular flights from Phoenix to Frankfurt, Germany.

The flights have been on pause for two years because of the pandemic.

The Condor nonstop route, which will operate two days a week from May through September, begins May 21. Other direct transcontinental flights from Phoenix include British Airways service to London's Heathrow Airport. American Airlines restarted its Phoenix to London flights in April.

Prior to the pandemic, Condor saw strong demand for its seasonal service from Phoenix to Frankfurt. As reported by The Arizona Republic in 2019, the airline flew almost 18,000 passengers from Phoenix in 2018. Most of these were retired travelers and students from local universities wanting to take trips to Europe.

When does the Phoenix-Frankfurt flight operate?

The airport said flights will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays. The Frankfurt flight will depart at 3:30 p.m. and arrive in Phoenix at 6:35 p.m. The Phoenix flight will depart at 8:45 p.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 4:50 p.m. the next day.

What does a Condor ticket include?

Condor will operate the Phoenix to Frankfurt flight with a Boeing 767-300ER that has over 250 seats. Every ticket includes checked baggage, beverages, meals and in-flight entertainment at each seat.

The plane also has 18 lie-flat business class seats with entertainment systems, power and USB ports and complimentary beer, wine and cocktails.
