There are two types of people in this world: those who can power through the pain of uncomfortable heels and those who can't. I fall in the latter camp. No matter how cute the shoes might be, there's nothing I loathe more than walking around with aching soles and blisters on my toes. Just the thought of it makes me cringe.
So, when I was invited to attend the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, I obviously went on a wild goose chase looking for a stylish yet walkable pair of heels that would perfectly complement my striped dress and wide-brimmed hat. I knew I was going to be on my feet all day and needed something that wouldn't leave me hobbling in pain. That's where the Margaux City Sandal comes in.
Featuring a specially-designed cushiony sole and a 2.5-inch block heel that's not too high, not too low, I can guarantee you that these aptly-named sandals feel like a treat for your feet. Believe it or not, throughout the 13 hours I was wearing them—yes, 13 hours—it felt cushiony and comfy—with every step I took around Churchill Downs. Equally as impressive: Margaux's precisely-placed straps that didn't dig into my toes or ankles—that's no fun when it does happen.
The City Sandals come in a range of pretty colorways and finishes—I opted for the Rose Nappa—and are so versatile that they can be dressed down with a pair of jeans and a white button-down or dressed up for an extravagant event, as I did. When you're looking for a heel that will elevate your look (both literally and figuratively) but is walkable at the same time, these shoes will come to the rescue. I've owned them for less than a month, and they've already gotten more use than my white sneakers. Seriously, that's how comfortable they are.
