Confrontation at party Sunday night leaves one man fatally shot near Bridgeville: police

A 23-year-old man died Sunday after being shot several times at a party near Bridgeville, Delaware State Police said.

Troopers were called about 7 p.m. to a home in the 21000 block of Mill Park Drive for reports of the shooting. When police arrived, they found 23-year-old Orbby Holde lying in the front yard of the house.

Troopers and paramedics tried to save Holder but he died at a local hospital, police said.

According to police, Holder had been at a party at the home when he "was confronted by an unknown man."

The confrontation "escalated," police said, and the man shot Holder. He then ran from the area "in an unknown direction."
