Congratulations to Coach Sanders

Carlsbad has a new head football coach. Please join me in congratulating Cale Sanders, who was the offensive line coordinator for the past season. Cale graduated from Goddard High School in 1998 and went on to star at Eastern New Mexico University as a receiver. He still holds numerous records at the school. He entered the NFL draft in 2003 and was later inducted into the ENMU Hall of Honor.

Sanders began his coaching career at Portales High School, then worked at Midland Lee and Goddard High School. He then took a break from teaching and coaching but returned to Carlsbad High School in 2022. Athletic director Greg Haston says Coach Sanders has a passion for youth and embraces the challenges of building Carlsbad’s football program. We look forward to working with him.
