Congressmen Steve Cohen and David Kustoff appear headed to easy victories

Shelby County's two congressmen looked to be cruising through through their primaries Thursday.

U.S Rep. Steve Cohen D-Memphis seemed to be fending off a primary challenge from M. Latroy Alexandria-Williams, Sr. with ease, winning 88.8 percent of the vote with early voting and 58 of 142 precincts reporting.

U.S. Rep. David Kustoff, R-Tennessee, bested three primary challengers, grabbing 84% percent of the vote with 99% of the vote in.

The two congressmen each represent heavily gerrymandered districts, making it unlikely that either will face stiff opposition in the Nov. 8 general election.
