State officials will hold a ceremony Wednesday to mark the opening of the new Department of Motor Vehicles customer service office in Putnam, according to the office of Gov. Ned Lamont.

Lamont is scheduled to be there for the ceremony, as are Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Sibongile Magubane, and Deputy Commissioner Tony Guerrera.

The office will replace a previous location in Putnam, which closed in 2020, according to Lamont’s spokesman. The office is “conveniently located off I-395 and will be open on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays,” according to the spokesman. “Like all DMV locations statewide, it is open by appointment only.”

The spokesman said the office will offer the “same services as the previous location, including driver’s license and non-driver ID card renewals and duplicates, vehicle registrations, and parking permits for individuals with disabilities.”
