Connecticut man charged with using Snapchat to solicit nude photos of Escambia minor

A Connecticut man was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly receiving sexually explicit Snapchat messages and images from an Escambia County minor.

Robert Lloyd Ficarra, 27, is facing charges of promoting sexual performance by a child and using a computer to seduce or solicit a child after he allegedly received nude photos of a girl in February 2022, according to an arrest report from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

According to the person who reported the incident, the victim "was sending these pictures and videos to unknown men in exchange for Amazon packages and money on Cash App," according to Ficarra's arrest report.

After investigators discovered the IP address used from the Snapchat account was located at Ficarra's Connecticut home, an FBI special agent was contacted to assist with the interview.

"On Nov 15, 2022, Special Agent Edward McConkie and SA Jenny Konecnik attempted to locate Robert Ficarra at his residence," the arrest report stated. "Upon arrival, a woman who was believed to be Ficarra's mother answered the door and was not cooperative."

The mother refused to tell law enforcement Ficarra's whereabouts and later his lawyer contacted the FBI to say that Ficarra is "asserting his right not to speak to law enforcement."

The circumstances around Ficarra's arrest were not detailed in his arrest report, but the Escambia County Jail website indicates Ficarra was booked into the jail at 10:01 a.m. Wednesday and released on $40,000 bond at 10:27 a.m.
