Conor McGregor hugs Cowboy Cerrone's grandmother after 40 second knockout win

Conor McGregor has been praised for his reaction to beating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 tonight.

The Irish fighter knocked “Cowboy” out after just 40 seconds at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada in what was an impressive return to mixed martial arts.

During Cerrone’s interview with Joe Rogan after the bout, his grandmother stormed in to hug her grandson, with McGregor then taking a moment himself to talk to and hug her.

McGregor admitted after the fight that he felt “emotional, happy and good” after 18 months away from the octagon.

Up next could be Jorge Masvidal or Kamaru Usman, with McGregor telling his potential opponents “any of these mouthy little fools can get it!”

Cerrone admitted that he was taken by surprise when stopped by McGregor.

“He got me with an elbow straight away and then he headkicked me.

“I have never seen anything like the shoulder he hit me with. I was disorientated. Then he stepped back, I was bleeding and he headkicked me.

But I love this sport and I am not stopping yet.”
