Conrad Thompson clarifies his relationship with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

AAA ran a show in Arizona on December 3, and the promotion is reportedly set to return to the United States with another event on WrestleMania weekend in 2023.  Some reports have suggested that Thompson will be co-promoting it. On July 31, 2022, Thompson promoted the Ric Flair’s Last Match event under the Jim Crockett Promotions banner, and he remains an influential figure in the wrestling world. However, “The Podfather” has offered some clarification on his relationship with AAA.

In an interview with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc., Thompson stated that he won’t be involved. He wished the company well and stated that he wants everyone to succeed. However, he emphasized that he doesn’t officially work for any wrestling company.

“I don’t work for AAA. I don’t work for IMPACT. I don’t work for AEW. I don’t work for WWE,” Thompson said. “I think the world of Dorian [Roldan], the fellow who owns AAA and is sort of leading that charge, and I hope that their show in Tempe this past week was super successful.

“My understanding is it was the first time any event was ran in that arena, and [it was] pretty notable that Cain Velasquez was there. I saw your report that maybe he’s going to do something in L.A. Yes, I would love to be helpful for anyone and everyone to try to succeed in wrestling, but I don’t have an official title. I don’t work in any official capacity with any wrestling company.”

Thompson is set to be involved with another major project, as Starrcast and Oceania Pro Wrestling are working on an event and fan festival. More information is available here.
