Constantine boys win Eddie Invite

The Constantine boys connected for an invitational championship on Friday. The Falcons piled up 137 total team points at the Edwardsburg Eddies invite, they finished first out of eight teams in attendance.

Constantine won four events for the boys. Dean Topolski ran to first place overall in the 400 meters, his time was 51.51 seconds. Also claiming a win was Rushawn James in the 300 hurdles, he ran a time of 44.15 seconds in that one.

Julian Hawthorne, Collin Featherstone, James and Topolski teamed up to win the mile relay. The group ran a time of 3:31.96.

Brody Jones brought home the title in the pole vault, he cleared 12-0 feet.

James finished fourth in the long jump at 17-10 feet. Collin Featherstone and Michael Featherstone tied for third place in the pole vault, they each reached 9-6 feet.

Bennett VandenBerg finished second in the discus at 142-8 feet.

Canon Manley’s distance of 42-0 feet was good for third place in the shot put.

Constantine was second in a pair of relays. The team of James, Topolski, Donovan Miller and Collin Featherstone ran a time of 1:36.11 in the 800 relay, the team of Hawthorne, Logan Patmalnieks, Isaac Moore and Collin Featherstone posted a time of 8:57.37 in the two-mile relay.

In the 400 relay, Constantine finished fifth. Brayden Clark, Jones, Featherstone and VandenBerg had a time of 48.41 seconds in that one.

Michael Featherstone ran a time of 18.15 seconds for third in the 110 hurdles, Justin Hendrix was fourth at 19.59 seconds. Ethan Glick’s time of 10:53.1 was good for third in the two-mile run, Robbie King ran a time of 10:55.5 for fourth.

King finished fourth in the mile run as well at 4:58.02, Glick came in fifth at 4:58.04.

For the girls, who finished fifth as a team with 42 points, Alizza Schieber won the discus. Her distance was 104-9.5 feet. She also won the shot put at 35-7 feet.

Caterina Thelen finished second in the discus at 99-10 feet, she was fourth in the shot put at 31-7 feet.

Three Rivers at Ionia

The Three Rivers track and field teams competed in the Ionia Bulldog Relays held on Friday.

The boys finished fourth with 75 points, the girls were fifth with 57. Jenison won both the boys (111) and girls (120) events, where seven teams competed in each.

Three Rivers won a handful of races on the day.

For the girls, the team of Savannah Headley, Rylea Summey, Calista Lockwood and Kylin Griffin ran to first place in the 400 relay. They posted a time of 52.93 seconds in that race.

Griffin, Annabelle Gill, Lockwood and Headley were second overall for the 800 relay, their time was 1:53.08. In the four-mile relay, Three Rivers’ team of Anezka Pradna, Jennifer Hernandez-Medina, Gabriella Kilbourn and Cecelia Kangas ran to second place at 23:23:00.

The sprint medley relay team of Griffin, Headley, Lockwood and Gill finished second at 3:08.33.

Three Rivers ran to second in the 400 shuttle hurdles as well. There, the team of Gill, Kaliyah Morton, Summey and Tyra Pope posted a time of 1:58.52.

For the boys, Jordan Pisco won the high jump at 5-10 feet. Andrew Brown finished second overall in the long jump, clearing 18-00.25 feet.

The sprint medley relay team of Kyler Copenhaver, Jeremiah Marzett, Brown and Drew Kobryn won at 2:40.07. Three Rivers also won the 440 hurdle relay as Pisco, Carter Rice, Tre Rohrer and Hagen Torres teamed up for a time of 1:08.26.

Finishing second overall was the four-mile relay team of Johnathan Pant, Reece Howes, Marc Castlunger and Sulley Zietlow at 20:50.
