Constantine boys win nine events at Kalamazoo Christian

The Constantine boys brought home a win at the SAC tri meet held at Kalamazoo Christian on Wednesday evening. The Falcons posted 92.33 points at the meet, beating Schoolcraft’s 58.5 and Kalamazoo Christian’s 24.16 points.

For the girls, Schoolcraft won at 71.5 points. Constantine claimed second at 62.5 points and Kalamazoo Christian posted 40 for third.

The Falcons boys claimed first place in nine events.

Rushawn Jones leaped to first place in the long jump, clearing 19-2.5 feet. Winning the pole vault was Brody Jones, he cleared a height of 11-6 feet.

Bennett VandenBerg won the discus event at 139-02 feet.

The Falcons picked up wins in a couple of relay events. They won the 800 relay as Julian Hawthorne, Charles Morris, Donovan Miller and Dean Topolski posted a time of 1:37.28. Also winning was the two-mile relay team of Hawthorne, Logan Patmalnieks, Isaac Moore and Collin Featherstone at 9:24.34.

Ethan Glick brought home first place in both distance races. He won the mile with a time of 5:02.63 and the two-mile at 11:29.29.

Featherstone ran to first place in the 800 at 2:16.36.

Topolski won the 400 run, his time in the event was 52.50 seconds. Topolski also finished second in both of the sprint races, posting times of 11.85 seconds in the 100 and 24.18 seconds in the 200.

Morris was second behind Topolski in the 400 with a time of 54.46 seconds.

Robbie King finished second in both distance races. His time in the mile was 5:14.17, his time in the two-mile run was 11:44.92.

Michael Featherstone came in second for the 110 hurdles at 18.40 seconds.

James was second in the 300 hurdles at 45.70 seconds.

VandenBerg had a distance of 38-9 feet to place second in the shot put.

Abigail Flores won the sprint races for the Lady Falcons. She ran a time of 13.96 seconds to win the 100 and a time of 30.17 seconds in the 200.

Also winning a pair of races was Kailee Jones. She had a time of 1:08.32 to win the 400 run and a time of 2:48.52 to win the 800 run.

Both Flores and Jones helped Constantine win the 800 and mile relays. They teamed up with Mia McMillin and Alivia Hall to win the 800 at 2:01.18 and Jaedyn Herlein and McKenzie Schleben to win the mile relay at 4:49.58.

Caterina Thelen vaulted to first place. She cleared a height of 8-6 feet.

Herlein won the long jump at 15-feet.

Alizza Schieber was second in the throwing events. She tossed a distance of 98-6 in the discus and 32-3 in the shot put.
