Construction of the roundabout at Town Center Drive and Pfluger Farm Lane, a part of the city’s transportation master plan, began on Tuesday.

During this phase, which is funded by Lifestyle Communities and estimated to be complete in mid-May, the intersection of Town Center Drive and Pfluger Farm Lane will be completely shut down. While the intersection is closed, thru traffic in the area will be limited. However, during this closure:

• Stone Hill Park will still be accessible from the west (through the Highland Park neighborhood).

• Century Stone Hill North Apartments and Century Stone Hill South Apartments will have access via the Highland Park neighborhood to and from their driveway on Town Center Drive.

• Stone Hill Luxury Apartments and Century Stone Hill South Apartments will have access to and from the south via Pfluger Farm Lane.

Additional improvements include the extension of Pfluger Farm Lane to the north, which is expected to be completed this year. This project is part of a series of projects to complete the extension of Pfluger Farm Lane to the Texas 45 frontage road, allowing for an alternative route for traffic and provide additional connectivity between Wilke Lane and Pflugerville Parkway.

Construction includes new curbs and gutters, underground storm facilities, pedestrian improvements, street lighting and intersection improvements, according to city records.

“The kickoff of the Pfluger Farm Lane extension project is an exciting sign that we are moving forward on our transportation master plan and creating the infrastructure that will support the development in this area, enhancing access and circulation in the vicinity of Stone Hill Town Center,” said Deputy City Manager Trey Fletcher. “This initial phase of improving connectivity is possible due to Lifestyle Communities' investment of constructing the first section. Upon final completion, the extension of Pfluger Farm Lane to SH 45 will greatly improve local access to this important commercial area.”
