Construction to cause detours on Turnpike at Sample Road

Road construction at Florida’s Turnpike and Sample Road will cause detours beginning Friday night through early Monday morning, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The Turnpike/State Road 91 northbound and southbound entrance ramps from Sample Road/SR 834 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Drivers wishing to reach the Turnpike going west on Sample Road will be detoured to go south on Lyons Road, and then east on Coconut Creek Parkway to get to the Turnpike.

Drivers wishing to reach the Turnpike going east on Sample Road will be detoured to go south on Powerline Road/SR 845 and then west on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd/Hammondville Road to get to the Turnpike.

Drivers going south on the Turnpike who want to exit at Sample Road will be detoured to the Coconut Creek Parkway/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (exit 69), then go west on Coconut Creek Parkway to Lyons Road to get to Sample Road.

The exit ramp to Sample Road from the Turnpike north will remain open.
