Construction on Green Lake Outer Loop, new bike lane to begin this weekend

The Seattle Department of Transportation announced it will begin construction on the Green Lake Outer Loop project on Saturday.

Crews were out preparing for the start of construction on Friday, including putting out “no parking” signs in the work area.

The plan for the project is as follows:

  • It will begin with the removal of existing paving markings throughout the project area and the installation of pavement markings on Aurora Avenue North.

  • Permanent eastbound closure of West Green Lake Drive North

  • Paving on West Green Lake Drive North

  • Paving and spot repairs on West Green Lake Way North (between North63rd Street and Aurora Avenue North)

  • C-curb installation on West Green Lake Drive North and West Green Lake Way North (between North 63rd Street and Aurora Avenue North)

  • Jersey barrier installation on Aurora Avenue North

Officials said project plans are subject to change as construction is dependent on the weather.
