A construction worked died Monday Dec. 4 after falling more than 20 feet while renovating a Buckeye Lake home.

Anthony Perry, 41, died at Licking Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after being transported from a Buckeye Lake job site, Licking County Deputy Coroner and Chief Forensic Pathologist Dr. Jeff Lee said Friday.

Buckeye Lake Fire Chief Keisha Amspaugh said the department was dispatched to a North Bank Road home between Elmhurst Lane and Cottage Street on Monday at 2:51 p.m. after a man fell more than 20 feet. Amspaugh said the existing home is undergoing a renovation and Perry was on a lift prior to the fall.

The company Perry was working for was not known by Amspaugh or Lee.

It is unclear what Perry hit when he landed, Lee said.

Perry was then transported to Licking Memorial Hospital in serious condition, Amspaugh said. She added she was on the call and first responders knew immediately the injury was serious. They got Perry to LMH as fast as they could.

"We did absolutely everything that we could do and just, unfortunately, it wasn't a great outcome," she said.

Lee said the corner's office was notified of the death by LMH at 3:30 p.m. that same day.

Perry's preliminary cause of death is blunt injury to the torso, Lee said.

Lee said he did know if the corner's office had been contacted by the Columbus area office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. A call to OSHA was not returned by Friday afternoon.

Perry's family could not be reached as of Friday afternoon.
