Construction worker fatally struck, Davidsonville man charged

A construction flagger was struck and killed by a suspected drunken driver Tuesday night in Davidsonville, police said. Anne Arundel County police said officers were called around 10:09 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Davidsonville Road and Kings Retreat Drive. Police said a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on Davidsonville Road, approaching Palomino Court, where the road is undergoing construction and repaving and traffic is limited to one lane. Police said the Jeep initially struck a 2022 Honda Accord that was stopped at the construction zone flagger's stop sign. Then, the Jeep's driver tried to leave the scene by continuing down Davidsonville Road toward the intersection of Kings Retreat Drive.
