CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Charlotte Sports Live’s Gabe McDonald sat down with Greg Olsen who’s both called and played in the Super Bowl.

Since retiring from the NFL, Olsen has been staying busy with his charity work and as a color analyst for FOX.

Ahead of his upcoming charity event at the end of February, Gabe and Olsen talked about all those topics including the current state of the Carolina Panthers.

Olsen, who’s been a FOX color analyst for the last three seasons, talked about his future in the booth after it was reported future Hall of Famer Tom Brady would be taking his spot.

“Where that goes from here, we’ll see. But I think for the three years we did it, we did it at a pretty high level. It was a great experience,” Olsen recalled.

When asked how he processes his future with FOX, he says it’s very similar to trade rumors during his playing days. “This is not the first time that teams have tried to replace me. I’ve been traded, I’ve been cut. I believe in my talents; I believe in what I’m good at; I believed it when I was a player,” Olsen said. “I always thought, ‘You’re never gonna bring anybody in better than me, ever.’ If you cut me, you’ll never be able to replace me. If you trade me, you’ll never be able to trade me. I was right both times. I just believed that in my heart- that if you’re good at something it’ll work out. All I can control is being good.”
