'Cookie robbers' wanted in gunpoint stickup at South El Paso grocery store

A couple of "cookie robbers" are being sought by El Paso police investigators in connection with a bungled armed robbery at a South Side mom-and-pop grocery store earlier this month.

The two young men are suspected in a robbery at gunpoint at El Fandango grocery at 1928 Olive Ave., next to Eucalyptus Street, a few blocks from Bowie High School. The unsolved cookie caper is Crime Stoppers of El Paso's Crime of the Week.

About 1 p.m. on March 14, the pair entered the grocery with their faces masked by black shirts, security camera photos released by Crime Stoppers of El Paso show.
