Some cool stops at ACL Fest to get free stuff, take photos, make beats, win VIP passes

You paid a lot of money to attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and in this economy, you might as well get some free swag and stop by some memorable places to get some photos. Here's some of what we saw on the park grounds.

Hulu Motel offers holiday away from the heat

Need to cool down? Head over to the Hulu Motel, where you can "check-in" to the air-conditioned hut, and grab a drink, snap some pics for the gram in the photo-friendly "motel," or grab some swag such as sunglasses or a min-motorized fan. You can even send a letter to a loved one to say you're at ACL (Hulu will mail it for your). For festival early birds, you can also sign up to win free VIP passes. The company is giving away five VIP wristbands each day from the time gates open to 3 p.m.

The motel is located right near the iconic Frame, where folks have lined up for years for photos.

Figure out where you're going with Snapchat

We thought Snapchat had gone out of fashion, but the company's here to help festival-goers navigate the park with an interactive map that will show you everything from setlists, to the nearest bathrooms, water, food and stages. It's also a way to show your friends where you're at on the festival grounds. You also can take a photo at the giant camera tower.

Iconic spots, plus ACL Sign adds bedazzled addition

You probably know the now-famous ACL Fest sign staged above the rock island in Zilker Park, but this year there's a rhinestone truck created by the local Oddball Kustom Garage. The scene's already an iconic photo op location, and the truck adds new bling to the location.

The big colorful flag field, another iconic hangout and photo spot, is back, too.

Make your own beats with swings

Want to feel like one of the musicians playing the fest? The Coke Studio offers an interactive beat mixing studio. Everything in the pop-up location makes music, from the swings to the carousel. Plus you can take part in a virtual scratch off to win drinks or other swag from the company.

Photo with art

Need another selfie spot? The murals located east of the flags can provide another spot to either watch some art get created or snap a pic with the completed pieced.

You can also walk over to the Rock and Recycle tent to check out the T-shirts designed by artists, which change daily. If you get a recycling bag and return it filled up, you get a shirt for free.
