COPA Releases Video Of Police Shooting Woman During Traffic Stop

The incident happened on Saturday, Jan. 9 in Lawndale. Police said the woman brandished a gun at officers.

- Breaking news. Just into the newsroom, this dramatic video just released to us showing a routine traffic stop on January 9th that ended with Chicago police officer shooting a woman. This is the angle from a street view camera. The officer's body cam was also rolling.

- COPA, the agency that investigates police shootings, released this video about an hour ago. Police tell us when they ordered the driver out, she reached for a gun. Two officers fired hitting her several times. The officer stopped because the car was illegally parked. That's why they stopped her. The woman is in stable condition. No one else was hurt.
