Cops in Kenosha where Jacob Blake was shot won’t have body cameras until 2022

Police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where an unarmed Black man was shot in the back by cops Sunday, do not have body cameras because they’re not yet in the budget.

Jacob Blake, 29, was hospitalized in serious condition after the caught-on-video shooting in Kenosha.

Last month, the Kenosha County Board voted 22-0 to direct the finance staff to budget for body cameras for the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department next year, the Kenosha News reported.

At a briefing, Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian said the force is expected to get body cameras in 2022, The Washington Post reported.
