Cops release video of suspects they say lured Publix customer into a violent robbery

Three criminals lured a Publix customer into a partially hidden area near the store and inflicted severe injuries on him during a robbery Sunday afternoon, Miramar police said.

The victim, who didn’t want his name released, told police the robbers set him up by telling him his bike had been stolen from outside the Publix at 11000 Pembroke Road.

But, one robber told him, the fictional bicycle thief had stashed the bike in an area not far from Publix. As the victim walked to an area near the rear of a building, the video shows the aggravated assault and armed robbery begin.

Police released surveillance video Thursday that showed two of the suspects and the start of the beating.
