Cops search for man who threw hammer at Uber driver in Upper Freehold

State Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another who they say assaulted an Uber driver on Phillip Court in Upper Freehold, according to a news release.

At 2:53 a.m. on Dec. 21, an Uber driver pulled over on Phillip Court to rest when two men approached his vehicle and began an altercation, police said. One suspect then began kicking the driver's vehicle, authorities said.

When the driver attempted to drive away, one of the suspects threw a hammer at the vehicle, which struck the man in his face. The victim sustained facial injuries, but was able to drive to a hospital and call police.

State police posted a photo sketch of the second suspect, who is described as a white male.
