PITTSBURGH - Core background actors are needed for Season Two of the locally filmed Jeff Daniels police drama "American Rust."

"Being core background means that you have great availability to be on set when needed throughout the span of filming," Nancy Mosser Casting, handling the casting, explains. "Sometimes it’s very last minute so we need people with flexible schedules."

Dropped by Showtime after a first season that included many scenes shot in Ambridge, "American Rust" got picked up by Amazon Freevee, with filming scheduled to continue weekdays at the end of November into early May throughout the Pittsburgh region.

Core background actors can expect 12-hour days paying approximately $175.

Roles needed to be filled: People ages 18-plus to portray police; lawyers and paralegals; and skilled labor like construction workers, steel mill workers, farmers, oil and gas workers, with knowledge of machinery welcome but not required.
