History of Raventós I Blanc and Can Sumoi

It all began in the 19th Century, the Raventós family was the first group in Spain to make sparking wine. They made the wine following the traditional méthode Champenoise, which is a historical way of creating sparkling wine in Champagne with secondary fermentation in the bottle, according to an excerpt from Takoi's reservation website.

Now, Raventos l Blanc uses the classic trio of Cava grapes- Xarello, Macabeo, and Parellada to produce wines that have age-worth structure, brightness, a lean and chiseled minerality rooted in the soil of the Anoia River basin in Catalonia.

Can Sumoi is an agricultural farm that has been around since 1645, that serves as a host for the vineyards by Pepe Raventós and their childhood friend, Francesc Escala.
