Cornerstone Center for the Arts to 'pause' classes for fall semester

MUNCIE, Ind. — The board of directors of Cornerstone Center for the Arts in downtown Muncie announced this week the facility will pause classes this fall semester.

CCA will remain open for rentals, events and First Thursday exhibits in the Judith Barnes Gallery.

"Despite long time support from partners and patrons across the city, the cost to maintain our grand 1920s Masonic Temple building often exceeds revenue," the board said in a release.

According to the release, the board will "begin to investigate other operational models that may give Cornerstone the resources to better grow its mission while supporting the needs of our community."

The board "expects to resume classes in early 2024," the release said.
