Coronation Street's Ryan Connor turns to an Only Fans-style platform to make some fast cash next week.

The show has officially confirmed this new direction for Ryan's storyline, which was first teased last week.

In next week's episodes, Peter Barlow explains to Ryan that he owes Rufus' widow Lou £15,000 to repay her for the watch he stole.

Peter says that he needs Ryan to start contributing towards the rent, so he promises to do everything he can to help.

Ryan hopes to start earning again by resuming his shifts at the Bistro, but an alternate course of action presents itself when one of his online followers, Liv, sends a suggestive message.

The barman has already been sharing shirtless photos online as part of his ongoing body transformation and secret use of steroids. However, Liv goes a step further by asking him to drop his trousers and send a picture.

Later in the week, Ryan tells Daisy Midgeley and Sean Tully that he hopes to start monetising his socials. Daisy and Sean warn him off, claiming that the only quick-fire way is to sell raunchy photos.

Ryan goes ahead and creates a new profile on the O-Vidz website, where he posts his first x-rated video. Devoted fan Liv is delighted, and with other subscribers also quickly getting on board, Ryan sees the money start rolling in.

Covering his tracks, Ryan assures Carla and Peter that he's managing to monetise his new career as an "online fitness instructor", so they don't need to worry about him not being able to pay the rent.

Is it only a matter of time before Carla and Peter discover the truth about Ryan's online career?

Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan, explained: "You see him have this dialogue with a girl he knows, who talks to him about how to keep your followers engaged and keep growing a following and to make more money.

"You have to go above and beyond these typical fitness shots and start with more sexual images, incentive pictures – and the more people that come into that world hooked by those pictures, the more broader your audience becomes, and with the broadening of your audience, they ask for different things.

"They asked for more intimate things and he found very quickly that he was losing followers and losing subscribers from not doing more. So that kind of pushes him more and more into doing more risky pics and to be honest, within one week of posting incentive pictures, he's having a one-on-one live session.

"They start asking for videos, which was a way outside of his comfort zone. But there's probably a week in between sending pictures and him doing a one-on-one live, interactive session. He is very quickly swallowed up by it, and as the money starts coming in, he is hooked."
