Coronation Street's Curtis Delamere gets a nasty shock tonight (December 14) as he realises that his fiancée Emma Brooker has finally discovered his secret.

Curtis (Sam Retford) has spent months lying to Emma by claiming to be terminally ill.

Viewers know that Curtis has a Factitious Disorder, a mental illness whereby people deceive others by pretending to be unwell.

In Tuesday's episode, Emma (Alexandra Mardell) returns home to the cobbles after her shocking trip to the hospital.

Emma rushed Tyrone Dobbs's daughter Ruby (Macy Alabi) to get checked out after she took one of Curtis's pills. A doctor confirmed that Ruby had taken a vitamin, rather than medication that would be used to manage a heart condition.

With Tyrone very worried, Emma assures him that it was a false alarm and Ruby only swallowed a vitamin tablet.

Still upset and confused over why Curtis would lie to her, Emma comes up with a cover story to explain the mix-up.

Later, Curtis comes home and pretends to be exhausted – maintaining the lie that he has completed the Three Peaks challenge.

Emma has had enough of Curtis's wild claims, so she confronts him with the pill box and demands answers.
