A wedding is being planned for the festive season on Coronation Street next week, while Hope tries to contact the spirit of her dead dad.

Tyrone plans Christmas wedding to Fiz
When awkward questions are asked by the school counsellor about Hope’s family set-up, Tyrone decides it’s time he put a ring on it and gets down on one knee to propose to Fiz.

Despite Fiz saying 'yes', it turns out that planning for the wedding day itself is something that’s filling her with dread. Her wish is that they could just skip straight to the ceremony.
Hearing all this, Tyrone forms a plan and confides in Chesney: he’s moved the wedding to Christmas Day as a big surprise for Fiz.
Hope’s spooky séance

The journalist who wrote the John Stape book turns up to apologise and hands Fiz a bag that contains all his research. He wants her to have it so that it never falls into the wrong hands, so Fiz asks Chesney to hide the bag’s contents at his house – hence Fiz stuffing it all into a cupboard.

The trouble is, Hope then suggests to Joseph that they hold a séance to contact her Dad. And as the spooky ceremony takes place, Joseph reaches into the cupboard for some biscuits, only for the jiffy bag containing the John Stape research to fall out.
All three are freaked out, but this doesn’t stop Hope from later getting hold of a cassette player so she can listen to a tape of John found among the journalist’s material.
Griff threatens Alya
Alya decides to confront Griff over his racist comments and threatens to call his employer. But Griff warns her that she’ll regret it if she does.
Later in the week, Griff will be seen making out that he’s been attacked by four Muslim lads. And on Griff’s instruction, Max then uploads a video of Griff’s injuries – along with a racist commentary.
Will Stephen con Elaine?
Sarah’s meeting with a potential investor goes pear-shaped, so Audrey puts pressure on Stephen to invest the £10,000 that’s needed.
Realising that he needs to find the cash quickly and before the family rumbles his guilty secret, Stephen then starts to manipulate Elaine, who he knows once suffered at the hands of abuser Geoff. Playing a cruel trick, Stephen decides to send an abusive text to his own phone but make out that it came from Gabrielle.
When Elaine then suggests that Gabrielle is gaslighting him, Stephen makes out that it’s only what he deserves. But Elaine tells him that she too was in abusive relationship and so wants to now help Stephen. But does this support stretch to her providing him with a large amount of money?
Maria is making changes
Maria discovers that nearly all the signatures on the petition Griff presented to her were actually from fake accounts.
And so when she then addresses the Christmas market committee, she’s emboldened both to share her plan to rename it a Winter Market and support the refugee centre. Councillor Cameron objects but Maria overrules, leaving him feeling apoplectic.
Amy discovers Summer’s secret
Summer continues to keep Mike and Esther in the dark over her miscarriage. But secrets never remain under wraps for long on the Street.
By the end of the week, Amy will have discovered a batch of morning sickness pills in the bin. And after Amy puts two and two together, Summer is forced to admit that she lost her baby over a week ago.
Ken juggles Martha and Wendy
Mary experiences a panic attack at rehearsals, but after a spot of coaching from Martha, she gives a terrific performance.
When Martha then invites the whole theatre troupe along to a play that evening, Ken makes out Wendy’s too busy but that he’d love to attend. But a disconcerted Brian can’t help but clock the chemistry between the pair.
