Coronation Street star calls for Rick Neelan story to be revisited

Coronation Street star Millie Gibson is in the middle of a major storyline at the moment, as her character Kelly Neelan was part of the gang that attacked Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin, which tragically involved in the latter's death, leading to Kelly being charged with murder.
But the character has previously been a part of another major storyline, one that hasn't been wrapped up: Gary Windass being responsible for killing Kelly's dad Rick.

"I think Kelly definitely needs a close on that story!" Millie said. "It sort of ended up with Kelly drifting away and getting involved in other problems. She kind of forgot why she turned up!
"She definitely needs to wrap that up. I think it would be good if she was the one that caught him."
The actress opened up this week about the fan reaction to her character's involvement in the hate crime storyline, stating that Kelly is quite "tricky to like", but some people have been confusing reality with the show and thinking the star herself is like her character.

"The reaction was expected because Kelly was tricky to like anyway. Even Toyah is struggling to like her at the minute, so I think you need to have good morals to stick with her! Through this storyline and how it's going to pan out, hopefully people feel a bit more remorseful for her."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
