Catherine Tyldesley has revealed whether her character Eva Price could return to Coronation Street.

The actress, who left the ITV soap in 2018 after seven years, previously denied reports she would never return due to her problems with lengthy filming hours.

However, following the mass cast upheaval that has seen Corrie stars Faye Brookes, Katie McGlynn and Lucy Fallon announce their intentions to quit the soap, Catherine has once again made it clear that she would be open to reprising her role.

"Yeah, never say never!" she told Metro.

"It was my home for a long time and I’d love to see Eva go back there at some point when the time’s right for me. It would be [lovely] to revisit that. She was great to play."

During the same interview, Catherine noted that the rumours about behind-the-scenes problems at Coronation Street have been "blown out of proportion".

"I think people like to create little stories, but as boring as it sounds, we’re one big family and even when you’ve left, you still feel like part of the family, you’re just a bit of a distant cousin for a while."

She added: "It’s a great place to be."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
