Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has joined Channel 4's Countdown for a string of guest appearances.
The actor, who plays Billy Mayhew on the ITV soap, took to Twitter to announce this exciting venture, writing: "So today… and I'm very excited to announce this… starts my guest appearances on @C4Countdown sat in dictionary corner with the rather fabulous @susie_dent"
He posted two pictures along with the tweet; one of him on set and the other of his name card with the Countdown logo on the wall.

The news comes after his fellow Coronation Street alum Les Dennis was confirmed to be Anne Robinson's temporary replacement on the show.
Dennis announced his news on Twitter back in July, writing: "From 4th August until 15th I shall be hosting the iconic @C4Countdown. It is such an honour. Hope you enjoy."
Dennis starred as Michael Rodwell on the soap from 2014 to 2016, after which he was written out of the series. His character ended up having a heart attack and was then left for dead by Pat Phelan.

Meanwhile, Billy Mayhew has been going through a rough time over on Coronation Street as he deals with his teenage ward Summer, who has been struggling with an eating disorder.
The pair had a very intense and emotional conversation on the soap back in April where she opened up about her struggles and how she's finding it difficult to deal with the restrictions of her diabetes.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub. Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4.
