Everything changes for Coronation Street’s Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) tonight, as a shocking piece of his past is exposed.

In recent weeks, Yasmeen and Stu have embarked on a romantic relationship, but Stu’s attempt to reconnect with daughter Bridget will lead to the unravelling of his shocking secret. First, he lied to Yasmeen that he hadn’t been able to find Bridget, when actually she had turned him away.
Since then, Stu has busied himself organising a charity initiative at Speed Daal, as local Gazette journalist Suki interviewed him alongside a handful of other characters. Stu’s life on the streets proved intriguing to Suki, and as Coronation Street returns we’ll see him concerned to find his photo on the front page of the newspaper.

Soon after, his ex-wife, Lucy, arrives at the restaurant to tell a horrified Stu to leave their daughter alone. She then drops a bombshell about him, leaving Stu protesting his innocence. In the aftermath, Yasmeen orders him away before finding Lucy to seek out the truth.
What does Lucy reveal, and what further information will Yasmeen learn? There have previously been hints about Stu’s history, when he was arrested for trying to break into the suppliers’ for Speed Daal a few months ago. Although the police let him go, an officer told Stu that he was very lucky given his record.

So whatever he has been hiding, it’s clearly linked to him breaking the law. But what exactly did Stu do? Poor Yasmeen has been to hell and back in the past few years thanks to abusive late husband Geoff (Ian Bartholomew), so this mystery revelation is sure to leave her shaken about the man she thought she could trust.
Is Stu’s situation clear cut, turning him from gentle soul to sinister villain? Or could there be more to it? We can’t give you many hints, but it’s a complex storyline that gives actor Fellows a chance to explore the character that has, so far, won the hearts of viewers.
Will fans still be on his side after Stu’s unmasking? You’ll just have to tune in to Coronation Street tonight at 8pm to find out.
