Coronation Street's Alison King reveals she is engaged
Congratulations are in order for Coronation Street star Alison King, who has revealed she is engaged.
Alison, who plays Carla Connor on the soap, talked to OK! magazine about how she was set up on a date with IT salesman David Stuckey by their shared personal trainer last year. David said he didn't recognise her from Corrie when he first met her, but did recognise her from an advert for Daz...
The pair also explained that he had booked the pair a Mediterranean cruise in order to propose, and it took quite the turn for the dramatic.

"I’d bought him a Rolex as an engagement present too," Alison said, "and I took it along just in case he asked as I had an inkling he would!
"But as we drove towards the port at Albufeira, there were black clouds over the sea. The taxi driver was like: 'You’re going on a boat? You’re kidding, right?'"
David explained: "The crew were all in on the surprise, so they said, 'We're not going to cancel, don't worry!' We got out of the marina and the waves were huge! I wouldn't have dared to hold the ring in case it flew out of my hands.
"So I asked them to turn us around and they took us into the marina, where there were no people around.
"Once the crew had turned off the engine and gone downstairs, I got really nervous and started stumbling over my words.

"I thought, I've got to ask her now, so it was then that I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. I got emotional! I didn't know what she was going to say."
Obviously Alison said yes, and described the proposal as "perfect, even though it didn't go to plan!"
The pair say they have already chosen the venue for the big day, although Alison is unsure what to wear.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights on ITV.
