Coronation Street's Maria Connor and Gary Windass are set to clash next week when it comes to Max Turner.
In scenes set to air, it is the eve of Max's sentencing over the the racist videos that he posted online and how they led to Blake stabbing Alya Nazir at Speed Daal recently. David Platt confides in Gail that he's incredibly worried about it.

Maria feels sorry for David, saying that he tried really hard to keep the teen away from the far-right gang. But Gary has a go at Maria and says that she shouldn't defend him, while Maria retorts that Max's actions weren't David's fault.
Could this drive a wedge between the couple?

Corrie has revealed what Max's sentence will be, which is impacted by a decision made by Alya. Spoilers synopses have also come out about what kind of storyline is planned for Max once he's inside the secure training centre that he's placed into. Could Maria try and be a friend to Max during a tough time, even if Gary won't be happy about it?
