Coronation Street's Spider to make risky new decision in Griff story

Coronation Street's Spider Nugent makes a bold decision later this week in the aftermath of being attacked by Griff Reynolds.
Spider recently became the victim of a brutal assault when extremist gang leader Griff rumbled him as an undercover police detective.
Working over a period of months, Spider tried to get close to Griff and secure a place in his group – hoping to gather as much information as possible to bring him down.
Spider's deception was exposed this week when Griff realised that he was masking his true intentions. Griff tricked Spider into a meeting and went on the attack, nearly killing him.

In Sunday's episode, Spider continues to recover in hospital after a successful operation.
Although Spider's partner Toyah Battersby thinks he should focus on rest and recuperation, he clearly has other ideas as his thoughts turn back to Griff.
Spider insists on discharging himself from hospital so that he can help the police to find Griff and bring him to justice. Griff is still at large after his attempt to plant a bomb at the Weatherfield Peace Market.
Toyah is dismayed as Spider can't be talked round on this one. Is Spider putting himself back in danger, or can he triumph in his battle with Griff?

Corrie's producer Iain MacLeod recently named Spider's undercover job as a challenge for the future of his relationship with Toyah.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, MacLeod commented: "Spider is obviously integrally related to the Max story and will have a part to play in the unknitting of it in the end.
"Toyah will obviously have ongoing difficulties with the level of danger his job requires him to submit himself to."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
